For instructors using GIS lab for teaching and research
Instructors who use the GIS lab for teaching or research and would like your students to access the GIS lab with their student card, please email your class list including the columns Student, Student ID, Major, Email in Excel or CSV to ITS support (support@unbc.ca) with the subject ‘GIS Lab key request’ by the end of the second week each semester.
For Students taking courses running in GIS lab
By the third week of each semester, students taking any GIS or related courses and would like to use their student card for lab access will need to download the approved key request form from the link CLASS KEY REQUESTS. Search for your name or student ID to find the form and download it. Then take this form and your students’ card to facilities for key processing. After that, you can use your student card to tap the keypad to access the GIS lab at any time.
Form naming convention: “coursenumber_lastname_firstname_studenid.pdf”
Example: GEOG204_Allum_Akida_230146933.pdf
For individual faculty, staff and graduate student
Please fill out the following key request form (the top half) and leave the authorization name and signature blank. Click the Save button located at the upper right (>> Save) to save it. Email the form to ITS support (support@unbc.ca) with the subject ‘GIS Lab key request’ for approval.
Give a few days for processing. The signed form will be available through the link GIS KEY REQUESTS. Search for your name or ID to find the form and download it. Then take this form and your ID card to facilities for key processing
